While filled with longstanding favorites like Bern’s Steak House and the Columbia Restaurant, the area is also seeing an incredible number of new and reimagined restaurants emerge. From modern and contemporary to vibrant and eclectic, residents and visitors alike are flocking to some of Tampa Bay’s newest dining options.

GORDITOS

Gorditos has taken the beloved shaved ice treat and given it a unique twist, effortlessly blending the essence of Bingsu, Taiwanese, Kakigori, and raspados. The shaved ice is expertly thinly shaved and comes in various renditions to cater to all ages. You can enjoy anything from the traditional, kid-friendly classic shaved ice to modern interpretations featuring an assortment of fruits, bobas, and hidden custards.

SAL ROSA AT LE MÉRIDIEN TAMPA

Spanish for “Pink salt,” Sal Rosa is a nod to the eclectic Caribbean-Latin culture, drawing inspiration from the islands surrounding the Florida Peninsula, countries to the south, and the rich history of the Le Méridien Hotel. From delectable fusion cuisine to Illy Coffee and artisanal homemade ice cream, guests can indulge in a menu that offers a wide variety.

Vela Tavern, Tampa Bay

VELA ITALIAN TAVERN

Vela Italian Tavern recently transformed from Cru Cellars into a brand-new concept called Vela. The restaurant focuses on comfort food items such as pasta, pizza, Mediterranean cuisine, wines, and cocktails. The Westshore Marina location inspires this concept, as Vela means “sail” in Italian.

YBOR SEOUL

Quietly opening its doors in late August of this year, Ybor Seoul offers an exciting new concept in the heart of Ybor City. The menu spans street food-inspired bites such as Korean corn dogs to everyday eats like Kimbap. Guests can enjoy classic milk and fruit teas and coffee topped with boba.

BEACON – JW MARRIOTT WATER ST.

Perched upon JW Marriott Tampa Water Street’s 27th floor is Beacon, Tampa Bay’s highest rooftop. Relax and enjoy the panoramic views from the lounge while you sip curated cocktails crafted by a team of award-winning mixologists. Guests can dine on cuisine that fuses seasonal flavors and local ingredients created by sous-chef Roy Bryant and Pastry Chef Natalia Meshalkina.

Lona, Tampa Bay

LONA – TAMPA MARRIOTT WATER ST.

Dynamic and modern, Lona is brought to life by the creative collaboration between renowned chefs Richard Sandoval and Pablo Salas. Redefining the Mexican dining experience, Lona combines traditional flavors, contemporary techniques, and artistic presentation. Guests are immersed in a lively atmosphere that pays homage to Mexico’s rich culinary heritage while embracing the spirit of innovation. The menu showcases a fusion of regional Mexican cuisines, offering delectable street food to refined ancient recipes.

PREDALINA

Located on Tampa Bay’s sparkling waterfront in the Water Street district, Predalina is inspired by coastal heritage, highlighting the Mediterranean region’s best seafood offerings. Guests can enjoy full-service dining with delicious meals and drinks for brunch, lunch, and dinner any day of the week. Beyond great food, Predalina also features in-house retail with hand-crafted wares, unique home décor, and special gifts.

Union New American, Tampa Bay

UNION NEW AMERICAN

Reimagining classic American fare, infusing it with a global zest that culminates in an eclectic modern American culinary masterpiece. Union New American‘s restaurant, lounge, and entertainment space features stunning design, lively energy, and an innovative menu with memorable cuisine. Guests can indulge in a wide variety of dishes, ranging from delectable mini country ham biscuits to exquisite seafood platters, sushi, and steaks.

SUNDA NEW ASIAN

With a creative twist on Southeast Asia’s cooking techniques and flavors, Sunda New Asian offers an innovative culinary experience.. From signature dishes such as Miso Glazed Sea Bass and Lemongrass Beef Lollipops to award-winning sushi, Sunda takes a contemporary approach to classic Asian cuisine. Guests can also enjoy curated drinks, which include premium sakes, Asian beers, and seasonally-inspired cocktails.

RO

Through meticulous attention to detail and commitment to sensory excellence, Ro elevates the art of modern Asian cuisine. With each dish, guests are transported to a realm where taste, aroma, texture, and presentation converse to create an unforgettable experience that transcends the ordinary. Ingredients are sourced from Tokyo’s Tayosu Market, ensuring the freshest and most authentic fish are used.

YARD HOUSE
