Airtech’s Guide to a Successful Infusion

Airtech has offered Dahltexx SP-2 for many years. Dahltexx SP-2 is a semi-permeable membrane that allows air and vapors to pass and does not allow resin to pass. This is very useful in the resin infusion processes. Since early in 2021, Airtech has expanded its range of products based on Dahltexx SP-2. Each of these products, unique to the marine industry, are focused on saving material and labor, while improving flow time and quality for marine builders.

Airtech’s Dahltexx® SP-2 encased vacuum channels allow air and gas to be drawn out of the part, but prevent any resin from entering back into the channel. By not allowing any resin bleed back to the vacuum source, the annual resin savings alone can be substantial in comparison to conventional vacuum line methods. Labor savings are substantial.

With three options to choose from, Airtech provides a product option for all resin infusion vacuum applications:

Dahlvac MB80 is excellent for creating a perimeter vacuum manifold that cannot be flooded with resin. Easy to apply out of the box. Dahlvac MB80 has a “tail” for applications where there is standoff distance from the laminate.
Dahvac RC is functional the same as the MB80 product but in a tailless tubular form. This product very useful in applications where there is limited space on the mold for bagging.
Dahlpac MC79 is the solution for isolated areas where vacuum must be maintained.
