New health and safety measures announced and an update on recent renovations.
The Tampa Convention Center stands ready to host and is excited to welcome back guests and clients to their 600,000 sq. ft. facility. Over the past several months, the center has implemented their TCC Ready campaign, which ensures all events are conducted in the most safe and responsible manner. In addition to the TCC Ready campaign, the convention center has also achieved Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR accreditation, the gold standard for prepared facilities. This means the Tampa Convention Center has implemented the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention in its facility.
The Tampa Convention Center and the TCC Ready campaign ensures safety through the following procedures: health screenings for all TCC guests, employees & contractors, enhanced sanitization standards, hand sanitizers throughout the venue, social distancing markers, restroom attendants, increased customer service attendants throughout the facility, new food & beverage delivery protocols, improved crowd control measures, and new requirements for show managers.
Along with new health and safety measures, the Tampa Convention Center is also proud to share the recent renovation of their 36,000 sq. ft. ballroom. New LED computerized lighting, fresh fabrics, finishes, paint and carpeting can be found throughout the facility. In addition to these renovations, the Tampa Convention Center has also launched a $38 million expansion program. This expansion will include new waterfront meeting rooms and added flexible space to the convention trade show floor.
