30th Anniversary Interview with Tricel

Tricel was started in 1982 by Blaine Loudin and his son, Steve. They manufacture Phenolic Impregnated Paper Honeycomb, a kraft paper product fabricated to form a continuous series of triangular cells. Their products provide outstanding strength and rigidity for marine and composites industry, making them one of the most economical strength-to-weight ratios available today. We recently connected with the folks at Tricel to discuss IBEX’s 30th anniversary and their marine product developments over the past 38 years.

What significant product developments have you made over the last 30 years?

We developed Tripanel Marine Panel products to reduce weight while maintaining strength and durability.

What changes has your company experienced in the last 30 years?

We have answered the need for unique design dilemmas. New products, new solutions.

What effect has IBEX had on your business?

We have been able to connect with boatbuilders and refitters, big and small, all while spreading our lightweight message.

Do you remember your first ever IBEX Show?

All the booths were tiny and the sales personnel needed some polishing.

Is there anyone on your team or in ownership that has been with the company for 30 years?
